Generosity (dāna) is presented as a dharmic act that yields increasing well-being: giving does not merely bring happiness once, but becomes a cause for progressively greater happiness for the wise.
Vyāsa addresses an unnamed listener affectionately and instructs him that the specific act of giving just performed (or being urged) will result in auspicious happiness, reinforcing the Anuśāsana Parva’s broader teaching on dāna-dharma.
