Dāna–Tapaḥ Praśaṃsā and Gṛhastha-Upadeśa
Maitreya
धर्ममूलां श्रियं प्राप्य पाप्मा नष्ट इहाद्य मे । भूतपूर्व कीटने कहा--भगवन्! आपके ही प्रयत्नसे मैं अधिकाधिक सुखकी अवस्थाको प्राप्त होता गया हूँ। अब इस जन्ममें धर्ममूलक सम्पत्ति पाकर मेरा सारा पाप नष्ट हो गया
dharmamūlāṃ śriyaṃ prāpya pāpmā naṣṭa ihādya me |
O verme disse: “Ó Bhagavan, tendo alcançado prosperidade fundada no dharma, o meu pecado foi hoje destruído aqui. Pelo teu próprio esforço eu ia atingindo estados de felicidade cada vez maiores; agora, neste nascimento, tendo obtido riqueza justa, todo o meu demérito anterior foi apagado.”

Prosperity that is rooted in dharma is ethically transformative: when wealth and well-being arise from righteous conduct, they become instruments of inner purification, dissolving prior sin (pāpmā) rather than reinforcing it.
