मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

तत्र शंखपताके द्वे युगान्तं कल्पमेव च । अयुतायुतं तथा पद्म समुद्र च तथा वसेत्‌

Transliteration

tatra śaṅkha-patāke dve yugāntaṁ kalpam eva ca | ayutāyutaṁ tathā padma samudraṁ ca tathā vaset ||

Translation

Bhīṣma disse: “Nesse reino superior, diz-se que o homem que mantém seu voto habita por medidas de tempo imensas—dois períodos ‘Śaṅkha’ e dois ‘Patākā’, um Yugānta, um Kalpa, um Ayutāyuta, um Padma e até um ‘Samudra’—indicando uma permanência extraordinariamente longa em Brahmaloka como fruto do dharma sustentado pelo voto.”
