मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity
स्वर्ग पुण्यं यथाकाममुपभुड्धक्ते तथाविध: । राजन! ऐसे गुणोंसे युक्त पुरुष देवताके समान अपने शरीरके साथ ही देवलोकमें जाकर वहाँ इच्छाके अनुसार स्वर्गके पुण्यफलका उपभोग करता है
svarga-puṇyaṃ yathākāmam upabhuṅkte tathāvidhaḥ | rājan! evaṃ guṇaiḥ yuktaḥ puruṣaḥ devatā-samo dehenaiva devalokaṃ gatvā tatra icchānusāraṃ svargasya puṇya-phalaṃ upabhuṅkte |
Disse Bhishma: “Ó rei, o homem dotado de tais virtudes torna-se como um deus. Indo ao mundo dos deuses com o próprio corpo, ali desfruta—conforme o seu desejo—dos frutos meritórios do céu.”
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma teaches that a life grounded in the stated virtues (guṇas) yields a divine-like destiny: the person attains the celestial realm and enjoys the fruits of merit freely, emphasizing the ethical causality of karma and the exalted reward of dharmic conduct.
In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhishma continues instructing King Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma. Here he concludes a praise of certain virtues by describing their result: the virtuous person reaches Devaloka and experiences heavenly rewards according to desire.
