ata ūrdhvaṁ pravakṣyāmi dhūpadānavidheḥ phalam | dhūpāṁś ca vividhān sādhūn asādhūṁś ca nibodha me ||

शुक्र उवाच
Śukra introduces a dharma-teaching: offerings are not automatically virtuous; their moral and spiritual outcome depends on the prescribed method (vidhi) and on discerning which forms are proper (sādhu) versus improper (asādhu).
Śukra begins a new section of instruction, announcing that he will explain the results (phala) of the ritual practice of incense-offering (dhūpadāna) and will classify different kinds of incense as beneficial or harmful in terms of dharmic consequence.
