Householder Duties and Daily Offerings
इदमस्ति गृहे महमिति नित्यं निवेदयेत् । ते यद् वदेयुस्तत् कुर्यादिति धर्मों विधीयते
idam asti gṛhe mama iti nityaṃ nivedayet | te yad vadeyus tat kuryād iti dharmo vidhīyate |
Vāyudeva disse: “Deve-se fazer regularmente esta humilde declaração: ‘Isto existe em minha casa.’ E o que quer que esses anciãos ou hóspedes determinem, deve-se fazê-lo conforme—esta é a regra do dharma. Em termos éticos, aquele que não permanece estabelecido de modo permanente em nossa casa é tido como atithi (hóspede). Portanto, ao mestre, ao pai, ao amigo de confiança e ao hóspede, deve-se sempre oferecer o que houver em casa e convidá-los a aceitar; e então agir exatamente como eles orientarem. Por tal conduta—hospitalidade, reverência e obediência à justa orientação—sustenta-se o dharma.”
