Kāśī princesses taken; encounter with Śālva; Ambā’s declaration
अनश्वा खलु मागधीमुपयेमे अमृतां नाम | तस्यामस्य जज्ञे परिक्षित्,अनश्वाने मगधराजकुमारी अमृताको अपनी पत्नी बनाया। उसके गर्भसे परिक्षित् नामक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ
anāśvā khalu māgadhīm upayeme amṛtāṃ nāma | tasyām asya jajñe parīkṣit |
Vaiśampāyana disse: Anaśvā desposou uma mulher de Magadha chamada Amṛtā. Dela lhe nasceu um filho, chamado Parīkṣit.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic social order through lawful marriage and the continuation of lineage, presenting progeny as arising from a recognized marital union rather than from disorder or coercion.
Vaiśampāyana reports a genealogical detail: Anāśvā marries Amṛtā, a woman from Magadha, and their son Parīkṣit is born.
