ययाति–दौहित्रसंवादः
Yayāti and the Grandsons: Discourse on Lokas, Dāna, and Satya
तस्मात् सान्त्वं सदा वाच्यं न वाच्यं परुषं क्वचित् | पूज्यान् सम्पूजयेद् दद्यान्न च याचेत् कदाचन,इसलिये कभी कठोर वचन न बोले। सदा सान्त्वनापूर्ण मधुर वचन ही बोले। पूजनीय पुरुषोंका पूजन (आदर-सत्कार) करे। दूसरोंको दान दे और स्वयं कभी किसीसे कुछ न माँगे
tasmāt sāntvaṃ sadā vācyaṃ na vācyaṃ paruṣaṃ kvacit | pūjyān sampūjayed dadyān na ca yācet kadācana ||
Portanto, deve-se sempre proferir palavras que consolem e tranquilizem, e nunca, em tempo algum, dizer palavras ásperas. Deve-se honrar os dignos de reverência, dar dádivas aos outros e jamais mendigar ou solicitar algo para si.
शक्र उवाच
Cultivate dharmic conduct through speech and social behavior: speak gently and consolingly, avoid harshness, honor the worthy, practice giving, and maintain self-respect by not begging.
