Yayāti–Indra Dialogue and Aṣṭaka’s Inquiry
Śukra teaches that claiming to act within dharma while practicing deceit (mithyācāra) is itself a form of moral theft: it steals the authority and sanctity of dharma, and thus incurs the sin of caurya.
Śukra rebukes a king—addressed as a descendant of Nahūṣa—for acting without awaiting his counsel, reminding him of his subordinate status and warning that false conduct in the name of dharma brings culpability like theft.
