वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights discernment and the social-ethical importance of knowing lineage and responsibility: outward signs like radiance and beauty prompt inquiry into rightful parentage and status.
Devayānī notices some handsome, godlike boys and asks the king whose children they are, remarking that their splendor and appearance make them seem like his own.
