Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
śrutvā kumāraṁ jātaṁ tu devayānī śucismitā |
cintayāmāsa duḥkhārtā śarmiṣṭhāṁ prati bhārata ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: Ao ouvir que um menino havia nascido, Devayānī — de sorriso puro — foi tomada pela tristeza e pôs-se a meditar, voltando seus pensamentos aflitos para Śarmiṣṭhā, ó Bhārata.
