परस्पराश्लिष्टशाखै: पादपै: कुसुमान्वितै: । अशोभत वन तत् तु महेन्द्रध्वजसंनिभै:,फूलोंसे लदे हुए वृक्ष एक-दूसरेसे अपनी डालियोंको सटाकर मानो गले मिल रहे थे। वे गगनचुम्बी वृक्ष इन्द्रकी ध्वजाके समान जान पड़ते थे और उनके कारण उस वनकी बड़ी शोभा हो रही थी
parasparāśliṣṭaśākhaiḥ pādapaiḥ kusumānvitaiḥ | aśobhata vana tat tu mahendradhvajasaṃnibhaiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: A floresta resplandecia em beleza. Árvores carregadas de flores, com ramos entrelaçados como se se abraçassem, erguiam-se até o alto e pareciam o estandarte de Indra, conferindo ao bosque uma esplêndida majestade.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse primarily offers poetic scene-setting rather than a direct moral injunction: it presents nature as harmonious and auspicious—trees ‘embracing’ through interlaced branches—suggesting concord and beauty as a fitting backdrop for significant events in the narrative.
Vaiśampāyana describes a splendid forest where flower-bearing trees stand close with intertwined branches, appearing lofty like Indra’s banner; this vivid imagery heightens the grandeur of the location being traversed or observed.
