The verse frames anger (krodha) as a potent generative force behind worldly power: even kings famed for strength and glory can be traced to a source characterized by wrath. Ethically, it hints that political might and renown may arise from, and remain vulnerable to, the destabilizing impulse of anger—inviting vigilance and self-mastery in rulers.
Vaiśampāyana describes an ancient origin-story: a large assemblage of kings on earth is said to have arisen from a gaṇa named Krodhavaśa. He characterizes these kings as exceptionally fortunate, famous, and strong, setting up a genealogical or mythic background for subsequent accounts of royal lineages and conflicts.
