Śakuntalā-Janma-Nāmakaraṇa (Birth and Naming of Śakuntalā) | शकुन्तला-जन्म-नामकरणम्
रुद्राणामपर: पक्ष: साध्यानां मरुतां तथा । वसूनां भार्गव विद्याद् विश्वेदेवांस्तथैव च,रुद्रोंका एक अलग पक्ष या गण है, साध्य, मरुत् तथा वसुओंका भी पृथक्- पृथक् गण है। इसी प्रकार भार्गव तथा विश्वेदेवणणको भी जानना चाहिये
rudrāṇām aparaḥ pakṣaḥ sādhyānāṁ marutāṁ tathā | vasūnāṁ bhārgava vidyād viśvedevāṁs tathaiva ca ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Há uma divisão distinta dos Rudras; do mesmo modo, devem ser entendidas divisões separadas para os Sādhyas, os Maruts e os Vasus. Da mesma forma, reconheçam-se também os Bhārgavas e os Viśvedevas como classes próprias.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes accurate discernment and orderly knowledge: divine beings are to be understood in distinct classes (pakṣa/gana). Such correct classification reflects a broader dharmic ideal—knowing things as they are, especially in sacred genealogies and cosmological lists.
Vaiśaṃpāyana continues a cataloging/explanatory passage, identifying that the Rudras, Sādhyas, Maruts, Vasus, Bhārgavas, and Viśvedevas each constitute distinct groups, to be recognized separately.
