आवयोर्दष्टयोरेभि: कथं तु स्थात् समागम: । एवं तयोक्तो भगवान् नीहारमसूजत् प्रभु:,“और हम दोनोंको देख रहे हैं। ऐसी दशामें हमारा समागम कैसे हो सकता है?” उसके ऐसा कहनेपर शक्तिशाली भगवान् पराशरने कुहरेकी सृष्टि की
āvayor dṛṣṭayor ebhiḥ kathaṃ tu sthāt samāgamaḥ | evaṃ tayokto bhagavān nīhāram asūjat prabhuḥ |
“Estão a olhar para nós dois; como poderia dar-se o nosso encontro assim?” disse ela. Assim interpelado, o poderoso sábio Parāśara, senhor de poderes espirituais, criou um véu de névoa, afastando o obstáculo do olhar público.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how social visibility and propriety can become ethical constraints, and how extraordinary power is used to remove practical obstacles; it also invites reflection on secrecy, accountability, and the moral weight of actions done away from public view.
A woman objects that their union cannot occur because others are watching. In response, the sage Parāśara uses his spiritual power to generate a fog, concealing them from onlookers.
