Disse Sauti: Ao ouvir as palavras de Pulomā, o sábio Bhṛgu encheu-se de ira intensa. Tomado de cólera, lançou uma maldição sobre Agni: “Tu te tornarás o devorador de tudo.”

The verse highlights the moral weight of speech and the danger of anger: even a sage’s wrath, though arising from a perceived wrong, can impose far-reaching consequences. It cautions that righteous indignation must still be governed by restraint, because a curse (śāpa) can alter duties and roles within the cosmic order.
Sauti narrates that Bhṛgu hears Pulomā’s words and becomes intensely angry. In that fury he curses Agni, declaring that Agni will become ‘sarvabhakṣa’—one who consumes everything—setting up the broader consequences of Agni’s role and the unfolding of the Pulomā-related episode.
