उग्रश्रवाः सूतः नैमिषारण्ये — Sauti at Naimiṣāraṇya

तस्मिन्नध्यासति गुरावासनं परमार्चितम् | ततो वक्ष्यसि यत्त्वां स प्रक्ष्यति द्विजसत्तम:,गुरुदेव शौनक जब यहाँ उत्तम आसनपर विराजमान हो जाय, उस समय वे द्विजश्रेष्ठ आपसे जो कुछ पूछें, उसी प्रसंगको लेकर आप बोलियेगा
tasminn adhyāsati gurāv āsanaṃ paramārcitam | tato vakṣyasi yat tvāṃ sa prakṣyati dvijasattamaḥ ||
Quando teu venerável mestre tiver tomado assento no lugar mais honrado, então fala—tomando exatamente o tema sobre o qual esse melhor dos brâmanes te interrogar.

One should speak at the proper time and in the proper manner: after the teacher is duly seated and honored, respond only to what is asked, keeping one’s speech relevant and respectful.
Uttanka instructs the listener on protocol: once the guru has taken the honored seat, the eminent Brahmin will ask questions, and the speaker should then address the topic that arises from those questions.
