Śṛṅgī’s Curse on King Parikṣit

Parikṣit–Śṛṅgī–Takṣaka Causal Link

naiṣā vo naiṣṭhikī buddhir matā kartuṁ bhujaṅgamāḥ | sarveṣām eva me buddhiḥ pannagānāṁ na rocate ||

Educational Q&A

A decision, even if firmly held, must be judged by its practicability and ethical fitness; also, a leader’s counsel cannot be expected to satisfy every member of a diverse community.

Śeṣa addresses the assembled serpents, rejecting their proposed course as unfit to implement and acknowledging that his own view will not necessarily be agreeable to all snakes.
