Educational Q&A

The verse presents a moral image: coveted rewards like amṛta are not to be seized through rash craving; they are surrounded by danger, implying the need for self-control, right means, and discernment in pursuit of goals.

Śaunaka reports a vision/sighting: near the nectar there is an iron wheel fitted with razors on its rim, spinning continuously with a very sharp edge—an obstacle or guard around the amṛta.
