Ādi-parva Adhyāya 33: Vāsuki’s Council on Averting the Sarpa-satra

The verse highlights restraint and purposeful action: even when possessing amṛta, the hero does not consume it for personal gain, suggesting ethical self-control and fidelity to a larger aim.
Śaunaka describes the winged being (Garuḍa) taking the amṛta without drinking it, swiftly leaving the place, and returning unwearied, his brilliance likened to eclipsing the sun’s radiance.
