तावुभौ भक्षयित्वा तु स तार्क्ष्य: कूर्मकुञ्जरौ । ततः पर्वतकूटाग्रादुत्पपात महाजव:,इस प्रकार कछुए और हाथी दोनोंको खाकर महान् वेगशाली गरुड पर्वतकी उस चोटीसे ही ऊपरकी ओर उड़े
tāv ubhau bhakṣayitvā tu sa tārkṣyaḥ kūrma-kuñjarau | tataḥ parvata-kūṭāgrād utpapāta mahājavaḥ ||
Tendo devorado ambos—a tartaruga e o elefante—Tārkṣya (Garuḍa), dotado de velocidade imensa, lançou-se para o alto a partir do próprio cume do monte. O episódio ressalta a força irresistível de um ser que age segundo seu poder e propósito inatos, e também sugere as graves consequências quando criaturas se enredam na hostilidade e são alcançadas por um agente do destino mais forte.
