Vālakhilya-Tapas and the Birth of Garuḍa (वालखिल्यतपः-गरुडोत्पत्तिः)
प्रसन्नसलिलै श्वापि हदैर्दिव्यैर्वि भूषितम् । दिव्यगन्धवहै: पुण्यैमारुतैरुपवीजितम्,स्वच्छ जलवाले कितने ही दिव्य सरोवर उसकी शोभा बढ़ा रहे थे। दिव्य सुगन्धका भार वहन करनेवाली पावन वायु मानो वहाँ चँवर डुला रही थी
prasannasalilaiḥ śvāpī hradāir divyair vibhūṣitam | divyagandhavahaiḥ puṇyair mārutair upavījitam ||
Era adornado por lagos celestiais de águas límpidas e tranquilas. Brisas puras, trazendo fragrância divina, pareciam abanar aquele lugar como um chauri cerimonial, evocando santidade, bons presságios e serenidade interior, e não agitação mundana.
पितामह उवाच
The verse highlights how purity and auspiciousness in the environment—clear waters and fragrant, holy winds—symbolize a dharmic, sattvic atmosphere where the mind naturally becomes calm and receptive to higher values.
Bhīṣma (Pitāmaha) describes a wondrous place as being beautified by serene, divine lakes and gently fanned by pure winds carrying celestial fragrance, emphasizing its extraordinary and sacred character.
