Abandoning one’s relational and moral responsibilities may not bring inner peace; unresolved duty and remorse can continue to trouble the mind until one confronts the consequences and seeks reconciliation.
Mandapāla, suffering and unsettled, questions the one he addresses for remaining silent. He admits that despite having previously left/abandoned her, he could not attain peace after departing, indicating regret and a desire for response and resolution.
