Garuḍa Learns the Cause of Vinatā’s Bondage and the Nāgas Demand Amṛta (Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 23)
जात: परमतेजस्वी विनतानन्दवर्धन:। तेजोराशिमिमं दृष्टवा युष्मान् मोह: समाविशत्,विनताका आनन्द बढ़ानेवाले ये परम तेजस्वी गरुड इसी रूपमें उत्पन्न हुए हैं। तेजके पुंजरूप इन गरुडको देखकर ही तुमलोगोंपर मोह छा गया है
Śaunaka uvāca—jātaḥ paramatejasvī vinatānandavardhanaḥ | tejorāśim imaṃ dṛṣṭvā yuṣmān mohaḥ samāviśat ||
Śaunaka disse: “Aquele Garuḍa de fulgor supremo—que aumenta a alegria de Vinatā—nasceu exatamente nesta forma. Ao verdes este amontoado de tejas flamejante, a ilusão tomou conta de todos vós.”
