तुतोष तस्य नृपते मुनेरमिततेजस: । उवाच चैन प्रीतात्मा किमिष्टं करवाणि ते,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--राजन्! मन्दपाल मुनिके इस प्रकार स्तुति करनेपर अग्निदेव उन अमित-तेजस्वी महर्षिपर बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और प्रसन्नचित्त होकर उनसे बोले --'मैं आपके किस अभीष्ट कार्यकी सिद्धि करूँ?”
tutoṣa tasya nṛpate muner amitatejasaḥ | uvāca cainaṃ prītātmā kim iṣṭaṃ karavāṇi te ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ó rei, o deus do Fogo ficou grandemente satisfeito com aquele sábio de esplendor incomensurável. Com o coração jubiloso, disse-lhe: ‘Que desejas? Eu o farei por ti.’”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
