paraspara-vartamānān trupadasyātmajāṃ prati | yo no 'nupraviśen mohāt sa vai dvādaśa-vārṣikam ||
Arjuna disse: “Nós nos revezamos, cada um em sua devida ordem, quanto à filha de Trupada; quem—por ilusão—entrar e invadir o tempo destinado a outro, deverá, de fato, cumprir uma pena de doze anos.”
अजुन उवाच
The verse emphasizes disciplined conduct and respect for agreed boundaries: even within intimate family arrangements, dharma is upheld through clear rules, self-restraint, and a defined consequence for violations committed through moha (delusion).
Arjuna states a rule for the brothers regarding Trupada’s daughter (Draupadi): as they relate to her in turn, any brother who intrudes upon another’s allotted time—out of delusion—must accept a twelve-year penalty.
