Tilottamā, Sunda–Upasunda, and the Pāṇḍava Samaya (Ādi Parva 204)
धर्मे चानवरौ राजन् सत्यतायां च भारत । रामाद् दाशरथेश्वैव गयाच्चैव न संशय:,भरतवंशी नरेश! ये दोनों धर्म और सत्यवादितामें दशरथनन्दन श्रीराम तथा राजा गयसे कम नहीं हैं। मेरा यह कथन सर्वथा संशयरहित है
dharme cānavarau rājan satyatāyāṃ ca bhārata | rāmād dāśaratheś caiva gayāc caiva na saṃśayaḥ ||
Vidura disse: “Ó rei, ó descendente de Bharata, em retidão (dharma) e em devoção à verdade, estes dois não são inferiores nem a Rama, filho de Daśaratha, nem ao rei Gaya. Disso não há dúvida.”
विदुर उवाच
Dharma and truthfulness are the defining measures of noble character; those who embody them deserve to be ranked with the highest exemplars like Rāma and King Gaya.
Vidura addresses the Kuru king and offers a strong endorsement of “these two” persons, asserting that in dharma and truth they are equal to celebrated models of righteous kingship, reinforcing their moral credibility.
