विदुरस्य द्रुपदसमीपगमनम् — Vidura Conveys Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Message to Drupada
रूपलक्षणसम्पन्नां शीलाचारसमन्विताम् | द्रौोपदीमवदत् प्रेमणा पृथा55शीर्वचनं स्नुषाम्,सुन्दर रूप तथा उत्तम लक्षणोंसे सम्पन्न, शील और सदाचारसे सुशोभित अपनी बहू द्रौपदीको सामने देख कुन्तीदेवी उसे प्रेमपूर्वक आशीर्वाद देती हुई बोलीं--
rūpalakṣaṇasampannāṃ śīlācārasamanvitām | draupadīm avadat premṇā pṛthā śīrvacanaṃ snuṣām ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ao ver Draupadī—dotada de beleza e de sinais auspiciosos, e adornada por bom caráter e conduta correta—Pṛthā (Kuntī) falou-lhe com afeto, oferecendo palavras de bênção à sua nora.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal that outer beauty (rūpa) is to be matched by inner virtue—good character (śīla) and right conduct (ācāra)—and it frames family relationships through affectionate, dharmic speech such as blessings offered to a daughter-in-law.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana describes Kuntī (Pṛthā) seeing Draupadī before her and then speaking lovingly, giving her benedictory words as her daughter-in-law.
