Adhyāya 196: Droṇa’s Conciliatory Counsel and Karṇa’s Suspicion of Counsel

Extraordinary power is framed as a responsibility: the hero is urged to use immeasurable strength not for domination but to overcome an obstacle and proceed toward a higher, luminous company—suggesting that true prowess is validated by purposeful, guided action.
Vyāsa addresses a powerful figure, affirming his immeasurable strength and valor, and instructs him to remove a massive mountain-like obstruction at a cave entrance and enter inside, where other sun-radiant beings like him dwell.
