देवसत्रे मृत्युनिरोधः, पूर्वेन्द्राणां मानुषावतरणम्, द्रौपदी-वरकथनम्

तांस्तथावादिन: सर्वान् प्रसमीक्ष्य क्षिती श्वरान् । अथान्यान् पुरुषांश्षापि कृत्वा तत् कर्म संयुगे
tāṁs tathāvādinaḥ sarvān prasmīkṣya kṣitīśvarān | athānyān puruṣāṁś cāpi kṛtvā tat karma saṁyuge ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Tendo observado todos aqueles reis falando daquela maneira, e tendo também lidado com os outros homens ao realizar aquele feito no meio do choque da batalha, a narrativa ressalta como palavras públicas e ações no campo de guerra, juntas, moldam a reputação e o juízo moral num conflito régio.
