Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 186 — Drupada’s Summons and the Pāñcāla Reception
हलायुधस्तत्र जनार्दनश्न वृष्ण्यन्धकाश्चैव यथाप्रधानम् । प्रेक्षां सम चक्रुर्यदुपुड्रवास्ते स्थिताश्न कृष्णस्य मते महान्तः,(अन्य राजालोग द्रौपदीकी प्राप्तिके लिये लक्ष्य बेधनेके विचारमें पड़े थे, किंतु) भगवान् श्रीकृष्णकी सम्मतिके अनुसार चलनेवाले महान् यदुश्रेष्ठ, जिनमें बलराम और श्रीकृष्ण आदि वृष्णि और अन्धक वंशके प्रमुख व्यक्ति वहाँ उपस्थित थे, चुपचाप अपनी जगहपर बैठे-बैठे देख रहे थे
halāyudhas tatra janārdanaś ca vṛṣṇy-andhakāś caiva yathāpradhānam | prekṣāṃ samacakrur yadu-puṅgavās te sthitāś ca kṛṣṇasya mate mahāntaḥ ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Ali, Balarāma, o portador da arma do arado, e Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa), junto com os principais homens dos clãs Vṛṣṇi e Andhaka, sentaram-se na ordem que lhes cabia. Esses eminentes chefes yādavas—agindo conforme o conselho de Kṛṣṇa—permaneceram em silêncio em seus lugares e apenas observaram os acontecimentos.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Great power is often shown through restraint: the foremost Yādavas, though influential, do not disrupt events but maintain order and act in alignment with wise counsel (Kṛṣṇa’s matam), modeling disciplined conduct within a public, high-stakes setting.
During the gathering (in the context of the contest for Draupadī), Balarāma, Kṛṣṇa, and the leading Vṛṣṇi-Andhaka Yādavas sit according to precedence and quietly observe, choosing not to intervene and instead following Kṛṣṇa’s considered plan.
