उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः

Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse

अतिनिर्मथनादेव कालकूटस्तत: पर: । जगदावृत्य सहसा सधूमो5ग्निरिव ज्वलन्‌,तदनन्तर अत्यन्त वेगसे मथनेपर कालकूट महाविष उत्पन्न हुआ, वह धूमयुक्त अग्निकी भाँति एकाएक सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌को घेरकर जलाने लगा

atinirmanthanād eva kālakūṭas tataḥ paraḥ | jagad āvṛtya sahasā sadhūmo 'gnir iva jvalan |

Śaunaka disse: Desse batimento intensíssimo surgiu então Kālakūṭa, o terrível veneno. Num instante ele se espalhou pelo mundo, ardendo como um fogo carregado de fumaça, como se fosse queimar toda a criação.
