उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः
Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse
कौस्तुभस्तु मणिर्दिव्य उत्पन्नो घृत्सम्भव: । मरीचिविकच: श्रीमान् नारायण उरोगत:,फिर अनन्त किरणोंसे समुज्ज्वल दिव्य कौस्तुभभणिका उस जललसे प्रादुर्भाव हुआ, जो भगवान् नारायणके वक्ष:स्थलपर सुशोभित हुई

kaustubhas tu maṇir divya utpanno ghṛta-sambhavaḥ |
marīci-vikacaḥ śrīmān nārāyaṇa uro-gataḥ ||
Em seguida surgiu a joia divina Kaustubha —nascida da rica essência da agitação—, radiante com raios que se espalhavam e esplêndida em beleza. Ela veio repousar no peito de Nārāyaṇa, onde brilhou como emblema de Sua soberania e auspiciosidade.
