तथेत्युक्त्वा तत: सूद: संस्थानं वध्यघातिनाम् । गत्वा55जहार त्वरितो नरमांसमपेतभी:,तब रसोइया “तथास्तु' कहकर वध्यभूमिमें जल्लादोंके घर गया और (उनसे) निर्भय होकर तुरंत ही मनुष्यका मांस ले आया
tathety uktvā tataḥ sūdaḥ saṃsthānaṃ vadhyaghātinām | gatvā jahāra tvarito naramāṃsam apetabhīḥ ||
Tendo dito: “Assim seja”, o cozinheiro foi então ao lugar onde habitam os carrascos—antro dos que matam os condenados—e, sem medo, trouxe de volta depressa carne humana.
गन्धर्व उवाच
The verse highlights how moral collapse can appear as ‘fearlessness’: the cook’s lack of fear is not virtuous bravery but shameless readiness to violate ethical and ritual boundaries, illustrating adharma driven by appetite and compliance.
After agreeing (“tathā”), the cook goes to the executioners’ place and quickly returns with human flesh, indicating a grim procurement of forbidden food from those associated with killing the condemned.
