Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
ततस्तस्मिन् गिरिवरे शुचिर्भूत्वा कृताउ्जलि: । आरिराधयिषु: सूर्य तस्थावूर्ध्वमुख: क्षितौ,तदनन्तर उस श्रेष्ठ पर्वतपर स्नानादिसे पवित्र हो भगवान् सूर्यकी आराधना करनेके लिये हाथ जोड़ ऊपरकी ओर मुँह किये वे भूमिपर खड़े हो गये
tatastasmīn girivare śucirbhūtvā kṛtāñjaliḥ | ārirādhayiṣuḥ sūryaṃ tasthāv ūrdhvamukhaḥ kṣitau ||
Então, naquele excelente monte, tendo-se purificado com o banho e os ritos correlatos, ele permaneceu de pé sobre a terra, com as mãos postas em reverência, o rosto erguido, decidido a adorar Sūrya, o Sol. A cena ressalta uma devoção disciplinada: purificação, humildade e prece concentrada antes de buscar o amparo divino.
