Aurva Episode: Restoration of Sight and Restraint of World-Destructive Anger
वैशम्पायन उवाच इत्युक्त्वा पाण्डव: क्रुद्धों गन्धर्वाय मुमोच ह । प्रदीप्तमस्त्रमाग्नेयं ददाहास्य रथं तु तत्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! ऐसा कहकर पाण्डुनन्दन अर्जुनने कुपित हो गन्धर्वपर वह प्रज्वलित आग्नेय अस्त्र चला दिया। उस अस्त्रने गन्धर्वके रथको जलाकर भस्म कर दिया। वह रथहीन गन्धर्व व्याकुल हो गया और अस्त्रके तेजसे मूढ होकर नीचे मुँह किये गिरने लगा। महाबली अर्जुनने उसके फ़ूलकी मालाओंसे सुशोभित केश पकड़ लिये और घसीटकर अपने भाइयोंके पास ले आये। अस्त्रके आघातसे वह गन्धर्व अचेत हो गया था
vaiśampāyana uvāca | ity uktvā pāṇḍavaḥ kruddho gandharvāya mumoca ha | pradīptam astram āgneyam dadāhāsya rathaṃ tu tat |
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Tendo falado assim, o Pāṇḍava (Arjuna), enfurecido, lançou contra o Gandharva a fulgurante arma Agneya. Aquele projétil ígneo queimou a carruagem do Gandharva até reduzi-la a cinzas.”
