Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)

ब्राह्मण उवाच एवमुक्‍्त्वा तु याजेन हुते हविषि संस्कृते । उत्तस्थौ पावकात्‌ तस्मात्‌ कुमारो देवसंनिभ:,ब्राह्मण कहता है--यों कहकर याजने उस संस्कारयुक्त हविष्यकी आहुति ज्यों ही अग्निमें डाली, त्यों ही उस अग्निसे देवताके समान तेजस्वी एक कुमार प्रकट हुआ

brāhmaṇa uvāca | evam uktvā tu yājena hute haviṣi saṁskṛte | uttasthau pāvakāt tasmāt kumāro devasaṁnibhaḥ ||

O brāhmana disse: “Tendo falado assim, tão logo Yāja ofereceu ao fogo a oblação devidamente consagrada, daquele mesmo braseiro ergueu-se um menino radiante, brilhando como um deus.”
