Kuntī–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda on Atithi-dharma and Crisis Strategy (Ādi Parva 149)
The verse highlights ethical communication: a trustworthy person may use a pre-agreed ‘token’ (jñāpaka/saṃjñā) to confirm identity and reliability, ensuring that counsel is received without suspicion.
The speaker resumes speaking and asks Yudhiṣṭhira to attend to a previously indicated statement—presented as a sign of recognition—so that the message is accepted as authentic and credible.
