वैशम्पायन उवाच स प्रसन्नमनास्तेन परिपृष्टो द्विजोत्तम: । उवाच वचन तीक्ष्णं राजशास्त्रार्थदर्शनम्‌

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: sa prasannamanās tena paripṛṣṭo dvijottamaḥ | uvāca vacanaṃ tīkṣṇaṃ rājaśāstrārthadarśanam ||

Vaiśampāyana disse: Quando o melhor dos duas-vezes-nascidos (o brâmane) foi assim interrogado, alegrou-se por dentro e começou a falar palavras agudas e incisivas—palavras que revelavam o sentido e os princípios práticos da ciência política.
