Bhīma’s Search for Water and the Forest Halt
शीघ्रमभ्यस्यतो बाणान् संदधानस्य चानिशम् | नान्तरं ददृशे किंचित् कौन्तेयस्य यशस्विन:,यशस्वी अर्जुन बड़ी फुर्तीसे बाण छोड़ते और निरन्तर नये-नये बाणोंका संधान करते थे। उनके धनुषपर बाण रखने और छोड़नेमें थोड़ा-सा भी अन्तर नहीं दिखायी पड़ता था
śīghram abhyasyato bāṇān saṃdadhānasya cāniśam | nāntaraṃ dadṛśe kiṃcit kaunteyasya yaśasvinaḥ ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Enquanto o glorioso filho de Kuntī, com rapidez, exercitava-se e sem cessar encaixava flecha após flecha no arco, não se via intervalo algum—não havia a menor pausa entre colocar a flecha e dispará-la. A passagem realça a maestria disciplinada, fruto de prática contínua.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Steady excellence arises from abhyāsa (repeated practice) and unwavering attention; mastery is shown when action becomes seamless, without hesitation or wasted motion—an ethical ideal for fulfilling one’s role with competence and restraint.
Vaiśampāyana describes Arjuna’s extraordinary archery: he keeps fitting and releasing arrows so rapidly and continuously that observers cannot detect any gap between nocking an arrow and shooting it.
