Adi Parva 135: The Miner’s Warning and Construction of the Escape Passage
विदुर उवाच एष पार्थो महाराज फाल्गुन: पाण्डुनन्दन: । अवतीर्ण: सकवचस्तत्रैष सुमहास्वन:,विदुरने कहा--महाराज! ये पाण्डुनन्दन अर्जुन कवच बाँधकर रंगभूमिमें उतरे हैं। इसी कारण यह भारी आवाज हो रही है
vidura uvāca | eṣa pārtho mahārāja phālgunaḥ pāṇḍunandanaḥ | avatīrṇaḥ sa-kavacaḥ tatra eṣa su-mahā-svanaḥ ||
Vidura disse: “Ó grande rei, é Pārtha — Phālguna, o amado filho de Pāṇḍu — que desceu à arena trajando sua armadura. É dele que se ergue este estrondo poderoso.”
विदुर उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya readiness and disciplined preparedness: Arjuna’s armoured entry signifies resolve and duty, and the great sound underscores the moral weight and public consequence of heroic action in a royal setting.
Vidura identifies the newcomer to the king as Arjuna (Pārtha/Phālguna), noting that he has entered the arena wearing armour; the loud, powerful noise being heard is attributed to his arrival and martial presence.
