Transliteration

janamejaya uvāca |

kathaṃ cāsya suto jātaḥ so ’śvatthāmāstravittamaḥ |

etad icchāmy ahaṃ śrotuṃ vistareṇa prakīrtaya ||

Translation

Janamejaya disse: “E como nasceu seu filho — Aśvatthāmā, o mais eminente entre os conhecedores da ciência das armas? Desejo ouvir isso em detalhe; narra-o por completo.”
