Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
पश्यति सम महाबाहुं भीम॑ भीमपराक्रमम् । आर्यकेण च दृष्ट: स पृथाया आर्यकेण च,तब वासुकिने उन नागोंके साथ आकर भयंकर पराक्रमी महाबाहु भीमसेनको देखा। उसी समय नागराज आर्यकने भी उन्हें देखा, जो पृथाके पिता शूरसेनके नाना थे। उन्होंने अपने दौहित्रके दौहित्रको कसकर छातीसे लगा लिया। महायशस्वी नागराज वासुकि भी भीमसेनपर बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और बोले--“इनका कौन-सा प्रिय कार्य किया जाय? इन्हें धन, सोना और रत्नोंकी राशि भेंट की जाय”
paśyati sa mahābāhuṃ bhīmaṃ bhīmaparākramam | āryakeṇa ca dṛṣṭaḥ sa pṛthāyā āryakeṇa ca ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Então ele viu Bhīma—de braços poderosos e terrível em valentia. Naquele mesmo instante, Āryaka, o venerável ancião dos Nāgas ligado à linhagem de Pṛthā, também o viu. Reconhecendo o seu descendente, Āryaka apertou-o contra o peito num abraço firme. O ilustre rei dos Nāgas, Vāsuki, também ficou muito satisfeito com Bhīmasena e disse: “Que serviço querido devemos fazer por ele? Devemos presenteá-lo com riquezas—ouro e montes de joias?”
