नृसिंहं नरयुक्तेन परमालंकृतेन तम् । अवहन् यानमुख्येन सह माद्र्या सुसंयतम्,उसमें माद्रीके साथ पाण्डुकी अस्थियाँ भली-भाँति बाँधकर रखी गयी थीं। मनुष्योंद्वारा ढोई जानेवाली और अच्छी तरह सजायी हुई उस शिबिकाके द्वारा वे सभी बन्धु-बान्धव माद्रीसहित नरश्रेष्ठ पाण्डुकी अस्थियोंको ढोने लगे
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
nṛsiṃhaṃ narayuktena paramālaṅkṛtena tam |
avahan yānamukhyena saha mādryā susaṃyatam ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Eles levaram aquele leão entre os homens — Pāṇḍu — juntamente com Mādrī, bem seguro e atado, no mais nobre veículo, carregado por homens e ricamente adornado. Assim, os parentes transportaram os restos, firmemente atados, do ilustre Pāṇḍu com Mādrī, cumprindo os ritos de respeito devidos aos mortos.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as family responsibility: even in grief, relatives must honor the deceased through orderly, respectful rites—symbolized by carefully securing and ceremonially carrying the remains in a dignified conveyance.
After Pāṇḍu’s death (and Mādrī’s accompanying death), the relatives transport the well-secured remains together with Mādrī in a richly adorned, man-borne conveyance, proceeding as part of the funerary observances.
