Pāṇḍu’s Funeral Rites and Public Mourning
संसक्तश्न तया मृग्या मानुषीमीरयन् गिरम् । क्षणेन पतितो भूमौ विललापाकुलेन्द्रिय:,वे उस मृगीसे सटे हुए ही मनुष्योंकी-सी बोली बोलते हुए क्षणभरमें पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़े। उनकी इन्द्रियाँ व्याकुल हो गयीं और वे विलाप करने लगे
saṁsaktaś ca tayā mṛgyā mānuṣīm īrayan giram | kṣaṇena patito bhūmau vilalāpākulendriyaḥ ||
Ainda agarrado à corça, e falando com voz humana, num instante caiu por terra. Seus sentidos se perturbaram, e ele começou a lamentar-se.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights an ethical warning: intense attachment (saṁsakti) can quickly disturb the senses and undermine steadiness, leading to suffering and lamentation.
A man, closely attached to a doe, speaks in a human-like manner and suddenly collapses to the ground; overwhelmed and sensorially agitated, he begins to wail.
