Kuntī’s Appeal for Progeny and the Vyuṣitāśva–Bhadrā Precedent (कुन्ती-पाण्डु संवादः; व्युषिताश्व-भद्रा आख्यानम्)
स तया कुन्तिभोजस्य दुहित्रा कुरुनन्दन: । युयुजेडमितसौभाग्य: पौलोम्या मघवानिव,अनन्त सौभाग्यशाली कुरुनन्दन पाए कुन्तिभोज-कुमारी कुन्तीसे संयुक्त हो शचीके साथ इन्द्रकी भाँति सुशोभित हुए
sa tayā kuntibhojasya duhitrā kurunandanaḥ | yuyuje 'mitasaubhāgyaḥ paulomyā maghavān iva ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Aquele encanto dos Kurus, dotado de fortuna imensurável, uniu-se em casamento a Kuntī, filha de Kuntibhoja; e, como Indra com Paulomī (Śacī), resplandeceu glorioso ao lado dela.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic, socially affirmed marriage as an auspicious bond that strengthens personal virtue and royal lineage, illustrated through the exemplary comparison of Indra and Śacī.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Kuru prince (Kurunandana) marries Kuntī, daughter of Kuntibhoja, and the couple is likened in splendor to Indra united with Paulomī (Śacī).
