It supports nāma-kīrtana (reverent recitation of sacred names) as an auxiliary practice to Linga-pūjā—invoking protective cosmic powers that uphold dharma around the devotee and the shrine.
By listing mighty Nāga-lords, the verse implies Shiva’s Pati-status as the sovereign over all powerful beings—those who appear fearsome in saṃsāra are still within his order and can become guardians when aligned to dharma.
Nāma-japa and smaraṇa (name-recitation and recollection) are highlighted; as a Shaiva discipline, this steadies the pashu (soul) and weakens pasha (bondage) through focused devotion directed toward Pati (Shiva).
