आश्विने चैव विप्रेन्द्राः गोमेदकमयं शुभम् प्रवालेनैव कार्तिक्यां तथा वै मार्गशीर्षके

Transliteration

āśvine caiva viprendrāḥ gomedakamayaṃ śubham pravālenaiva kārtikyāṃ tathā vai mārgaśīrṣake

Translation

Ó melhores entre os brâmanes! No mês de Āśvina, deve-se oferecer uma dádiva auspiciosa feita de gomeda (hessonita). No mês de Kārttika, ofereça-se igualmente coral (pravāla); e também no mês de Mārgaśīrṣa, conforme a observância mensal prescrita, para que o paśu (a alma atada) obtenha mérito que sustenta o culto a Śiva e afrouxa os laços (pāśa) pela graça do Senhor (Pati).
