सूर्यरथ-रचना, ध्रुव-प्रेरणा, मास-गणाः च

Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues

रक्षोहेतिः प्रहेतिश् च पौरुषेयो वधस् तथा सर्पो व्याघ्रः पुनश्चापो वातो विद्युद्दिवाकरः

rakṣohetiḥ prahetiś ca pauruṣeyo vadhas tathā sarpo vyāghraḥ punaścāpo vāto vidyuddivākaraḥ

Entre “as causas do dano” estão os ataques dos rakṣasas, as investidas súbitas, a violência feita pelos homens e a morte; bem como os perigos de serpentes e tigres; e ainda os das armas, dos ventos ferozes, do relâmpago e do sol abrasador. Em tais percalços, deve-se buscar Pati—Śiva—como refúgio supremo, aquele que corta os pāśas que prendem o paśu.
