Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It establishes the Purāṇic scale of time, reminding the devotee that Shiva as Pati transcends human measures; Linga-pūjā aligns the pashu (soul) with that higher, divine order of kāla.
By placing ‘divine time’ beyond ordinary human reckoning, it implicitly points to Shiva-tattva as the Lord of kāla—Pati who governs creation’s cycles while remaining unbound by pasha (limitations).
The verse supports a yogic takeaway: cultivate kāla-viveka (discernment regarding time) in Pashupata-oriented practice—steady japa and Linga-dhyāna to loosen time-bound pasha and orient the pashu toward the timeless Pati.
